Our log cabin is made from Viphya pine and uses solar and invertor/battery systems for power. This guesthouse is a unique setting ideal for relaxation, outdoor activities, and an escape from town. Kawandama Cottage is nestled in a valley among indigenous trees and hills as far as the eye can see. It's the perfect place for hiking, biking, relaxing and a family escape or romantic getaway. Surrounded by eucalyptus, you won’t have to worry about mosquitoes as you sit on the wrap-around porch watching the sun set over the rolling hills, or constellation spotting on our stargazing lounger! We can organise a tour of the plantation and distillery if you’re interested and you’ll find lots of walking trail maps at the cottage.
The cottage has three bedrooms, one with en suite, an open plan kitchen and living room, A large fire place, A TV & starlink, gas fridge and wraparound deck
Your host is Joseph who will look after you. This is a self-catered cottage so bring food and drinks based on the Know Before You Go we send you.
Only 80km from Mzuzu and 350km from Lilongwe using the Sante road. The headquarters itself is only 15km from the M1 road and the road is graded annually. Come see the endemic wildlife and indigenous trees and enjoy the fresh air of the unspoiled Viphya.
