DIRECTIONS
KHP is 290km North of Lilongwe and 80km South of Mzuzu.
To drive to KHP from Lilongwe, pass Kasungu, Jenda and Mzimba turnoff and continue to Raiply Timber Company. The turnoff is on the right side of the main road between Raiply and Chikangawa Forestry Village. Turn right at the KHP sign and continue 15km down a graded dirt road, past the first T-intersection, until you reach the head office road - it veers to the left. Here, you’ll meet Nebson, the Managing Director on the ground, for information on plantation tours, charcoal sales or guesthouse check-in.
The guesthouse is after the head office. Continue along the main dirt road, passing the head quarters and charcoal kilns to your left. At the first intersection, just a short way up, turn left and Kawandama Cottage is a few hundred metres down the road on your left. If you have a booking, our hosts Watson & Joseph will be there to greet you.

Visit Kawandama Hills makala shipping container outlets 9am - 4.30pm Monday - Friday to purchase sustainable charcoal and natural hand sanitiser, surface spray and insect repellent. At each location we sell 5kg 3,000mwk and 15kg 8,000mwk charcoal bags as well as our full Virisafe range. These are located in Lilongwe and Mzuzu.
